7 Grandfather Teachings Project
After a few long weeks of time and effort we've finally finished our seven grandfather teachings water-colour project. Basically, what that means is we first learned about the seven grandfather teachings which were a bunch of positive character traits symbolized by animals, for instance Love was represented by an Eagle and Humility was represented by the Wolf and so on. So we drew little slips of paper out of a basket to determine what animal or trait we received. I received the bear which represents courage so I partnered up with the person who ended up with courage. Together we made a great big poster with elements of line, we inked it, and watercolored it. This was the end result.

Logo Design Project
Above is my final decision for my combined logo. Now I was debating between two designs. I wasn't sure if I wanted the name of my company printed on my box or coming out of my box. I made two variants and I just decided to post them both.
Here is my final for my pictographic, (top) and the designs for my pictographic (bottom). When I started this project I had the idea for a brown box in mind from the beginning so I didn't test with colours very much. I tried a few variations for the black and white colour scheme however and it ended up looking really cool. In terms of the greyscale variant I actually tried using the gradient tool but it didn't turn out very nice. I ended up going with the Fog Grey Box, the Monochrome Box and the classic brown box.
For my typographic, I had started with some random font like, marker felt or something. While I was brainstorming I realized that the word "scattered" starts with s and ends in d, and the other way around for "dreams". Once I realized this I eliminated one of the "d's" completely and connected the two words. For the font I decided on Bauhaus 93, which is the Amiibo Font.

Our first CyberARTS homework assignment
We got an assignment to do over the weekend of the 3rd-4th of October for CyberARTS. We were supposed to do the assignment over the weekend as homework however nobody did so we all just did it on monday. The assignment was to watch a video, which I will link to at the end of the post. The video was about this guy who was talking about his design process for making logos which was what he does every single day. It was really unique and each variation of the logo had something special about it and a reason for why it looks like it does, along with his thought process for making it. It was really inspiring knowing that you can actually make a living off of what you love to do. In the video he said "Doing this kind of stuff gives me more of a reason to get out of bed in the morning because I know there will be something new and fun waiting for me."

Rhythm Assignment
Steady Line
For my Steady Line, I created a diagonal pattern that went
from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. The line size was pt.8 and
the lines got pinched in at the ends. My thoughts were quite random at first
but then I just kept going with what seemingly turned into what reminded me of
a yellow police tape design. I think it worked out nicely because all the lines
are the same size and type. I spaced them out a bit nearing the edges of the
page to draw the eye towards the centre of the page where the lines are
slightly closer.
Dynamic Line
For my
Dynamic Line, I wanted to make a heart design but I wanted to make it subtle.
So I arranged the line patterns to make a heart in the negative space. The finished
product had a very nice flow to it. The way that the lines go in a rough circle
like shape around the heart reminds me of Charlotte’s Web.

A new story begins
This is my first blog post.
I am a student at LCI in the CyberARTS program. In this blog I will be keeping track of my life inside and outside of CyberARTS.
